11:29a - kill myself with sentiment? i think not.
i was going to answer the most recent friday five, but the questions are just damned ridiculous. no way i'm going to answer them and suffer the toturous introspection that follows. it's just insane.
i think i'm introspective enough without damaging my sanity--what little there is left to damage, that is.

unfortunately, it's too late.
bad enough i was listening to Dave Matthews Band's Crash Into Me, and i saw that Friday Five questionnaire, so now i wonder where the hell i went wrong. it's a general introspection: failed relationships, lost loves, questionable friendships, people who refuse to leave your life.
you have to wonder: how much of it was your fault (or mine, rather) and how much was really unavoidable. how differently could you have acted? how could you have changed the end result? was it even possible for things to have ended another way?
and then it dawns on you (and unfortunately, me): it's over. and there isn't jack shit you can do.
so you sit and think to yourself how much you wish things were different, and that's all you can do. wish. wonder, "what if--?"
and then there's nothing you can do.
cheering thought, isn't it?

10 Biggest Brain Damaging Habits
1. No Breakfast. People who do not take breakfast are going to have a lower blood sugar level. This leads to an insufficient supply of nutrients to the brain, causing brain degeneration.
--for the absence of this among my list of complaints, i can thank my mother, who never lets me leave the house without breakfast. that's an edge i've got over everyone else, it seems. not that it saves my brain. read on.
2. Overeating. It causes hardening of the brain arteries, leading to a decrease in mental power.
--hey, i only occasionally do this, so if i'm brain dead, this ain't the reason. in fact, there are those who would allege that i don't eat enough.
and there are those who would allege that i eat way too much.
3. Smoking. It causes multiple brain shrinkage and may lead to Alzheimer Disease.
--a habit that seems seductive, but hurt my throat and eyes. i guess i'll have to use some other nasty habit for my seduction purposes.
4. High Sugar consumption. Too much sugar will interrupt the absorption of proteins and nutrients causing malnutrition and may interfere with brain development.
--do candy and ice cream fall under this category? i'm always munching Polo or some other candy. and ice cream! in cones especially! whee! ;P
5. Air Pollution. The brain is the largest oxygen consumer in our body. Inhaling polluted air decreases the supply of oxygen to the brain, bringing about a decrease in brain efficiency.
--nothing really we metro manila residents can do about this. okay okay, i live in antipolo where the grass is greener and the air fresher, but i commute to manila everyday, don't i?
6. Sleep Deprivation. Sleep allows our brain to rest. Long term deprivation from sleep will accelerate the death of brain cells.
--aw come on! who gets enough sleep?? only babies can do that!
7. Head covered while sleeping. Sleeping with the head covered increases the concentration of carbon dioxide and decrease concentration of oxygen that may lead to brain damaging effects.
--as far as i know i don't do this, but then what do i know?
8. Working your brain during illness. Working hard or studying with sickness may lead to a decrease ineffectiveness of the brain as well as damage the brain.
--when you work, you work. and what is this thing called illness? what's ill? who's ill?
9. Lacking in stimulating thoughts. Thinking is the best way to train our brain, lacking in brain stimulation thoughts may cause brain shrinkage.
--ahehehe. there's plenty stimulating in my thoughts. ;P
10. Talking Rarely. Intellectual conversations will promote the efficiency of the brain.
--i think i long ago wrote this off my list. the problem with me is i don't shut up.
