4:13p - reminisce and regret
he writes of me.
i got a message from him this morning, asking for directions to  quinnzap's, so that he could get his books. i fear he's trying to get more than that. tungkung langit lives in fear that he may have to offer sympathy when wowie goes there to retrieve his items, since "may pinag-samahan kami." i fail to see how that can possibly overshadow the fact that this man hurt me so many times.
i cannot forget to this day how he looked that night at Greenbelt when i abandoned him, his face filled with fear and despair as i threatened to leave the car and his life forever. he grabbed my arm and tried to keep me from leaving, and he cried as i walked away. i cannot forget the anguish in his voice, the pain in is eyes.
just the same, i cannot forget my own fear, my own anger. for half a year i endured his self-pity, spilling over into my own frustration over his inaction, and morphing into anger because he insisted on dragging me down into his spiral of stale misery, his conceit, his self-contained, self-absorbed insistence that nothing in his life can be fixed.
sometimes when i hear a vehicle outside our gate and i know there's no-one we're expecting to arrive, i freeze in fear that it is him, come to me for pity and reconciliation. he will never have that, he deserves not even a smidgen of my time, my attention, my pity.
and yet i do pity him, because he will never learn, and never be content.
