11:54a - not so hale and hearty, after all
yes, it is possible to get asthma at 22 - i asked the doctor.
again, my mother was insisting i stay home and see a doctor instead of heading to work today. but had a meeting with the 2004 printers today, so i said, "fine, i'll see the school nurse, i promise." call it luck, karma or Fate - when i got here, i was told the printers had cancelled because the owner's sick too. ah well.
so after dealing with emails, letters and such, i went on to the school nurse as i promised my dear, concerned mother, and told them about it: the shortness of breath, the wheezing, the apparent constricting of air passages. the doctor examined me, flattening the cold stethoscope all over my slouched back - difficulty with breathing does that, i find - and asking me to say, "tres, tres" everytime she placed it on a new spot on my skin, later on my chest as well.
did i mention asthma runs in the family? on both my mom's and my dad's sides. my brother has it.
after the nurse nebulized me, the doctor prescribed Ventolin tablets, "for maintenance, while you're feeling this way. three times a day." and i could be a latent asthmatic.
*sigh* oh well.
