6:35p - Happy Third Anniversary
Oneal and i have been together for three years now; we celebrated our anniversary last Saturday. it's funny, because i never know what Oneal has up his sleeve to surprise me. i didn't know what he had planned, so on Saturday morning, Paul and Rain asked me, "what are you doing today?" and i replied, "i dunno."
i suggested to Oneal that we watch a movie, and we wanted to see Charlotte's Web. "okay, let's check the schedules for Gateway."
he said, "no, we're watching in Makati." a-ha. a plot. i smell something anniversary-ish.
"oh? what's in Makati?" i grin.
"Greenbelt! and Glorietta!" he says, in that singsongy voice he uses when he's teasing.
"okay, so why are we watching there?" i ask.
"because we're staying at the Intercon tonight." woohoo!
it's funny how that plan came to be, actually. we were scheduled to appear at the Read or Die Convention in the Grand Ballroom of the Intercon on Sunday, Feb 4. the convention was from Feb 3 to 4, but we didn't want to spend our anniversary working at the NWA booth and sweating in our armor. (and besides, there are other, better places where you can sweat on your anniversary.) Oneal suggested before, in jest, that we just get a room at the hotel so it would be easy to change. i thought he was kidding. guess not. :D
so we checked the movie schedules, and i packed my things in with my armor. we got to G4 just before noon, and when we arrived at the cinema lobby, we saw that something more interesting was showing: Stranger Than Fiction, with Will Ferrell and Emma Thompson. it was only showing in Ayala cinemas, and would probably only be around for a limited run, so we bought tickets for that instead. the movie wasn't till 3 (i think), so we decided to have lunch first.
we ate at Mexicali and just walked around the mall aimlessly, stopping here and there to have a look-see or what. it had been ages since we last did that, and it was nice knowing we had the rest of the day with nothing to do and just each other for company.
at around 2, we decided to check into the hotel first, and rest a bit before the movie. it's a nice room, and i quickly claimed as my own the hotel stationery--it's a thing i have. i like writing on hotel stationery. then we went to see the movie--which is fantastic, by the way. while a knowledge of literature, literary devices and trends, and authors and literary academics would help, a lack thereof would not hinder your enjoyment of the film. excellent performances from the cast, good editing, wonderful writing, great twists. it's just good. MUST-SEE!
so anyway. we met up with Rain after the movie so i could get my 501st jacket, and we dropped of some things in the room, then we went back to Glorietta for dinner at Italianni's. good lord, their Classic Pizza is wonderful!
then we just went back to the hotel, watched the SAG Awards on TV, and fell asleep. this account of how we spent our anniversary might make it seem boring or quiet and understated, given me and Oneal and our boisterous personalities, but it was actually nice and simple. it's a spot of quiet in the midst of our busy and definitely-not-quiet lives, and a welcome opportunity to just enjoy each other's company with nice food, a good movie, a stroll in the mall, a breakfast we didn't have to cook ourselves, a nice hot shower, a bubble bath, room service, and the joy of three years together.

6:48p - NEWs
so many new things! all this to mark the end of 2006 and the start of 2007.
- new wifey!
Anna got married last December, and i was a bridesmaid. holiday traffic meant that i missed the march down the aisle, but that's okay; i helped Jenny with the reception. Anna was so beautiful, and they looked so happy. because this is my blog, i have every right to insinuate myself into the limelight and to say that despite all the stress i was in at the time, i was definitely gorgeous. my dress was very sexy, and i'm happy to report that it was Anna who designed it, not me. Oneal said that my top--a strapless orange bustier--dipped very low in the back, and i was the most well-endowed among all the other girls in the entourage. when you see the photos, you'll know that he was telling the truth and not just saying that because he's my boyfriend and he adores me.
- new baby!
Yes, Anna's already pregnant. i got the announcement in January. the baby is due late September. unfortunately, it's a difficult pregnancy: she has a retroverted uterus, which means her uterus is tilted backwards towards her spine. as a result, a nerve has been sandwiched between her growing uterus and her pelvis, making even walking very difficult. she's suffered severe vomiting, and she's had to resign from her job. she and Jib moved their newlywed home at the Prince David Condominium on Katipunan to her parents house in Valenzuela, so Tita Agnes can take care of her. she's been seeing her OB regularly; fortunately, Jenny can drive her to and from check-ups. she'll need regular therapy, at least in the first trimester, probably for pain management and to help her body become accustomed to the changes she's undergoing. the good news is that the fetus will eventually shift its position and face the right direction; in the meantime, Anna's having a hard time.
- new friends!
i met so many new people in Pasadena, from all over the world! i hope i can meet them again at Celebration IV. it was just so great to meet so many different people from all walks of life converging for one simple and wonderful reason: Star Wars.
- new passport stamps!
yes, i've been to the US before. but my point of entry over ten years ago was San Francisco. this time it was Los Angeles! also, i now have a legal document declaring that i am a Star Wars fan: the US visa on my passport states the reason for my visit to the US as the Star Wars Spectacular in the 2007 Rose Parade. yeah!
- new year!
Oneal and i have been together for three wonderful years. now we're beginning our fourth year. here's to many, many more happy years with my hunny bunny. i can't imagine anyone else with whom i'd want to spend the rest of my life. *mwah*
- new phone!
for our anniversary, Oneal gave me his Motorazr, since nobody in their family is using it anymore. finally, a camera phone! it's so pretty and i love playing with it, so much so that the battery keeps running out. haha. :D
- new school!
my brother graduates from high school and goes to college this year. oh Lord, my baby brother is a big boy! *sniff* i can't believe it. he'll be studying Communication Arts in UST, though he says he'll be applying for the Conservatory of Music after his first sem. i'm relieved he chose UST, since i'm paying for his tuition. i love my baby brother, but Lord knows i can't afford DLSU. i hope he can get a scholarship, or any sort of subsidy.
- new love!
Mom and Czar have been together nearly a year. this year will also mark his first year as a member of the Antipolo household. Mom is very happy and Victor has learned to accept it. the house feels more full now, better taken care of, and i'm glad.
- new sofa!
we HAVE to get a new sofa this year; we've already thrown a farewell party for the ancient green sofa in the living room! to all the folks who ever spent the night on it, bid it farewell.
- new me!
i'm going to get fit, get more work, get my brother into college, get my subconscious in shape, get my ass to Celebration IV.
actually, i should do something big this year. i turn 26 in November, and i think i need to do more with my life. i haven't done much, and i don't really set big goals for myself. i should start.
here's one: i'm going to re-learn French and Spanish, and learn to speak them fluently.
